Welcome to the Journey

I’m launching this blog on my 25th birthday (June 17, 2025). This date is particularly meaningful to me because of how much I’ve achieved since my 24th birthday and how much I hope to achieve before my 26th birthday. In 1 year I’ve started a company, secured the foundational IP, fundraised, won many grants, travelled the world, met so many cool people, published a co-author paper, and hosted a 300-person conference (Nucleate Texas Demo Day 2025).

Shortly after starting Powerhouse Therapeutics, I realized that I wanted to share my journey with the world. I also quickly learned the importance of establishing thought leadership online and communicate key pieces of information to all people. This blog will be a space where I can document my experiences, share insights, and connect with others who are on similar paths.

The Good, The Bad, The Ugly

I promise that this blog will not just be about the wins. In many of the industries I touch including business and science, we really only show wins (e.g, press releases, scientific publications, etc.) but rarely talk about the losses. A highlight reel of my life would do no good to any reader. Wins are merely the tip of the iceberg. Under the water there are endless trials, tribulations, failed experiments, capital wasted, etc. I hope to cover all of these moments in addition to my wins to show to everyone that failure is inevitable and how I kept going.

It really frustrates me that no one likes talking about their failures. Failures are just as responsible for overall success as wins. This blog will highlight all of those and show you that behind every innovation, successful business maneuver, and press release, there are many low points as well.

Building The Blog

This blog was based off of an amazing template by the folks over at Kusa Projects (https://www.kusa-projects.com/). I bought their template and began to customize it to fit my needs and style. This entire website is rendered via Astro and hosted on Cloudflare Workers. I decided on Astro due to it’s ability to be deeply customized and cool animations & UI. I’m still learning everyday how to work within Astro and have used this opportunity to learn how to code as well. It’s been fun developing my skills within VS Code and learning the basic nuances of web development.

I’ve decided to number all of my blog posts. I think this keeps with the theme of growth and accumulation of knowledge and thought. This post kicks it off at 0001 since this is the beginning of everything. I don’t really have a plan for what will happen if/when I surpass 9999 blog posts but I suppose we can cross that bridge if we get there. All of the URLs and images will be titled with the blog number. The title of each blog will have the blog number followed by a brief title to help y’all find things. The easiest way to get to a blog post is to simply input the following URL into your search bar and add a number afterwards: https://www.vincenttpham.com/blog/ such as 0001 or 0002.

Looking Forward

At the time of writing, I’m still a PhD student (candidate). My goal is to continue to post regularly on this blog through the years and build up a massive archive of thoughts and theses for the benefit of the internet. I will continue to write this as I progress through being a student, through graduation, and as my career develops and evolves. I don’t have a regular posting schedule and my time is quite limited so I will just try to post when interesting ideas or concepts come across my mind.

The Blog content

I’ve decided on a few topics to routinely cover with this blog that’s become the categories/tags for each post: Business, Design, Science, Technology, Personal, and Lifestyle. These are areas of my thoughts that I would like to share with the internet and perhaps pass on some wisdom as I learn hard lessons.

Some of the content on this blog will be quite technical but most of it will not. In any of my technical posts I will do my best to break down the jargon and include a footer with additional reading and references that anyone can access if they wish to learn more. Most of the content that I post will be readable to most of the general public. Simply keep an open mind and follow along with my explanations.

All of the writing done in this blog is by me and not any LLM or other AI model. The use of AI in this blog (if any) will only be for proof-reading or minor editing. Please don’t post my content on other websites without citing me or asking for permission first.

I don’t have a comments system on this website on purpose but if y’all have any comments/suggestions/questions please feel free to reach out to me via any of my socials or email. You will be able to find all of this information in the footer of this blog. I’m happy to take topic requests as well.
